Le fonctionnement de l'aérothermie

Lorsque l'on puise des calories dans l’air, on utilise le principe de l'aérothermie. Par analogie l'aérothermie puise les calories dans l'air quand la géothermie puise les calories dans le sol.

Comment produire de la chaleur grâce à  l'air ?

L'air extérieur contient naturellement des calories qui peuvent être récupérées et ré exploités pour le chauffage des bâtiments. On appelle ce procédé l'aérothermie ou, plus généralement, on parle de pompe à  chaleur aérothermique.

Le chauffage peut être assuré par de l'air chaud pulsé (pompe à  chaleur air / air) ou par l'installation d'un circuit hydraulique (pompe à  chaleur air/eau). Pour les différents types de pompes à  chaleur, vous pouvez vous reporter à  notre dossier sur Les pompes à  chaleur.

A la différence de la stabilité des sources calorifiques exploitées dans le cadre de la Géothermie ou la température de la terre reste stable toute l'année (entre 10 et 15°C), la température de l'air extérieur, quant à  elle, fluctue parfois dans des proportions beaucoup plus importantes.

Cela n'est pas sans poser problème sur le rendement des pompes à  chaleur utilisées, pour lesquelles les performances sont directement proportionnelles au prélèvement des calories dans leur état naturel.

En effet, la baisse de la température extérieure de l'air provoque, inéluctablement, une diminution de l'efficacité de la pompe, dès lors beaucoup plus sollicitée pour une même restitution de température intérieure à  l'habitation.

Il est donc coutume de compléter les pompes à  chaleur air / air par des systèmes de chauffage d'appoint.
